♡ STAYING HEALTHY AT WORK / RECOVERING QUICKER WHEN YOU’RE SICK ♡

Being sick while working is one of the worst things / feelings that can happen. At least for me, I’m a total baby when I’m sick.

Either way, we try our best but it’s hard when you’re consistently around new people in close proximities & have no idea if they’ll spread something or not or if just working, not sleeping much, not taking the best care of yourself ( it is HARD to do regularly if your schedule is messed up ) so it is pretty easy to catch something & then be out of work for a few days to a few weeks.

I asked on my Instagram some of your best tips to staying healthy at work & absolutely loved these answers!

Disclaimer: not a doctor or anything at all, so please do not take this as serious medical advice and consult a doctor if you have any questions, etc! Posting these as quick little tips that either I have used or tips I’d love to incorporate as well

♡ 10 QUICK TRICKS TO STAYING HEALTHY ♡

1. Stay home if you’re sick or feeling sick

2. I personally always keep a mini “sick” kit in my work bag. Thermometer, those little packets of Advil / Dayquil / etc that they sell at most gas stations, packets of Liquid IV, vapo rub nasal inhaler, peppermint halo from Saje for headaches & cough drops.

3. TAKE YOUR VITAMINS - everyday ♡ black seed oil, vitamin c, vitamin d3, & zinc.

4. Rest a lot, whether you’re sick or not. Always try to aim for at least 5 hours and if you can’t & your schedule allows it, try to take little naps throughout the day / night.

5. Drink plain celery juice or plain celery juice with an additive of orange juice! Orange juice in general ( preferably homemade or cold pressed ) is amazing for your vitamin C intake.

6. Oil of oregano as soon as you feel sick & take weekly as a preventative.

7. WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN & use hand sanitizer! Keep portable hand sanitizer in any / all of your work bags, car, etc. Try to remember using it after every: stage set, dance, & after anytime you touch money.

8. Elderberry + echinacea = new best friends. They are the only herbs backed by science to shorten the length of an illness. Also take it with garlic as garlic + echinacea + elderberry is a great antiviral! Take after every shift in the winter / spring.

9. Drink A LOT of water —> straws make you drink more water! So if you can find a water bottle with a straw or a design that says how much to drink by x time would be the best bottle! Other things to drink when you’re ill or feeling run down: tea —> a fan fav is ginger / cinnamon tea mix, & bone broth.

10. Get a body wrap as soon as you feel like you’re coming down with anything! It is an infrared sauna wrap that makes you sweat the toxins out faster.

Stay healthy out there especially during these colder months!
